Thu Mar 14, 2024, Dublin, Ireland – iCabbi is delivering a significant leap in innovation for taxi and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) operators with the launch of a brand-new AI product. Move AI harnesses the power of machine learning and artificial intelligence to deliver advanced route optimization and real-time re-optimization capabilities to fleet managers.
iCabbi has been developing this software in partnership with innovative mobility tech firm Moovex for 18 months. In January, iCabbi secured its commitment to Move AI by acquiring Moovex.
Move AI responds to emerging diversification trends in the taxi industry. Foremost in this is the cross-over into NEMT. New opportunities are also being pursued in micro-transit, school work, shuttles, and other mobility scenarios. CEO of iCabbi, Mick Tope, said: “We listened to our customer base in North America, who have been crying out for an effective NEMT technology solution to support their businesses for some time. I’ve every confidence that it has been worth the wait. There is no other product on the market right now that can do what Move AI does. Customers who use Move AI will be able to scale up their NEMT services in a very big way.”
Ohad Noy, CEO of Moovex, commented: “After eight years dedicated to developing the Moovex platform, we are delighted to officially unite with the iCabbi team. Integrating iCabbi and Moovex marks a pivotal moment in dispatching technology, and the overwhelming response from transport providers underscores its significance. Together, we’re spearheading a new era of innovation in fleet management. This acquisition marks the culmination of an intense yet immensely rewarding phase of development, propelling us forward toward our next advanced feature set.
Move AI guarantees that fleets can service more trips with fewer drivers. Through virtual fleet simulation, fleet managers can evaluate thousands of individual, grouped, and linked trip combinations in seconds. Machine learning is used to predict optimum mobility scenarios and these are then tested against available drivers to enable fleet managers to proactively manage supply and demand. Drivers then work off a smart Driver manifest to manage journeys.
Move AI is a premium upgrade to the iCabbi platform designed specifically for NEMT and Taxi transportation providers, as well as iCabbi fleets who wish to diversify their offering into other areas such as school buses, employee transportation, microtransit, deliveries, and more. Moovex continues to operate as a stand-alone offering for mobility providers who are not taxi or NEMT. Its customers currently include coach and bus providers.
A waiting list for Move AI from both iCabbi’s traditional taxi market customer base and from fleets that solely do NEMT trips has formed and is growing fast. iCabbi has committed additional resources to its implementation and operational team to enable fleets to onboard as quickly as possible. In addition, recruitment is underway for a Director of Sales for Move AI in North America.
iCabbi customers and NEMT fleets are invited to a webinar on Wed March 20 to see the Move AI product first hand. iCabbi will also host the Innovate 2024 product conference in Orlando on May 2-3 2024. The two-day event explores iCabbi’s product roadmap vision, highlights key recent features and releases, and includes a host of talks and panels on important topics for the taxi, NEMT, and mobility sectors.
On the future of the product, Tope commented: “We needed to purchase Moovex to ensure that iCabbi’s disruption of the NEMT space advances at pace. The Move AI product is already incredibly powerful, but there is so much yet to come. The talented Moovex development team will now be embedded within iCabbi’s wider product team as a fully dedicated resource, committed to driving advancements in AI fleet optimization.”
This industry-first innovation comes off the back of a series of significant technological advancements at iCabbi. In October 2023, iCabbi became the first B2B internet mobility vendor to integrate with Google’s Fleet Engine tech stack. The landmark move means that local taxi firms can now deliver the same user experience to their customers as global ridehail players. This is because they are now connected to the same real-time mapping, data feeds, and intelligence. Another recent innovation is Driver Docs, a DIY driver portal, which launched in the UK in early January and in North America in March.
iCabbi is part of the Mobilize ecosystem, which gathers all the mobility and energy-related services of the Renault Group. Mobilize has made significant investments into iCabbi R&D with over 50 new roles created in the product team over the past 12 months. The support of its parent has enabled iCabbi to set itself apart from competitors in the taxi dispatch market, providing security and ongoing innovation that cannot be rivaled by other providers.
