NEW FEATURE – Google Passenger Live Locations

Faster, Easier Pick-ups are here!

Our latest Google Feature Release allows drivers to see the exact location of their passengers in real time. So, they’ll find their customer and get them onboarded faster. This is a very useful feature for:

• Picking up at buildings with multiple exits such as airports, train stations, stadiums, and campuses.
• Picking up at places where there are crowds of people, like the aftermath of a sporting event or closing time for nightclubs.

1. The PLL feature will share the passenger’s location with the Driver App. This will be plotted on a map so that the driver can see the pick-up address for the booking versus the actual location of the passenger.
2. By tapping the Passenger Live Location icon, the Driver App will reroute the driver to the actual location using Google’s turn-by-turn navigation.
3. The passenger gets picked up sooner than they would have if the driver had gone to the address on the booking. Good news for the driver and passenger alike!

When will Passenger Live Location not display?

We will not show the driver the passenger’s location if:

1. The booking is not an iCabbi Passenger App booking using the latest Passenger App release which is 4.6.0 on Android and 4.6.0 on iOS.
2. If the passenger is further than 500m away from the pickup location.

Note: This feature will only show the passenger live location if the driver is using the latest iOS Driver App release. We will make this feature available to Android drivers when we release Google Turn by Turn for the Android Driver App next month.
