At iCabbi, we rely on insightful data to power our systems and solutions. We’re seeking an experienced Data Analyst to deliver valuable insights on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mathematics and statistics, paired with natural curiosity and a creative mindset. This person will be responsible for mining, interpreting, and cleaning data, while asking the right questions, connecting the dots, and uncovering hidden opportunities to maximize data’s full potential. Working within a team of specialists, the Data Analyst will use various methods to “slice and dice” data, create optimizations, and contribute to clear, forward-thinking solutions.

Objectives of this role

  • Collaborate with teams: Work closely with product design and engineering teams to understand their needs and goals.
  • Innovative Data Models: Research and develop innovative statistical models for effective data analysis.
  • Dashboard Creation: Build custom dashboards to help both our team and clients easily access meaningful business insights.
  • Effective Communication: Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Stay Current: Keep up to date with technical and industry trends to improve processes and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Reporting Systems: Oversee and improve existing reporting systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct Analytical Experiments: Run experiments to help solve complex problems across different industries and domains.
  • Data Mining: Identify and mine relevant data sources to meet client business needs, working with both structured and unstructured data.
  • Algorithm Development: Utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores; perform data and error analysis to refine models; clean and validate data to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
  • Trend Analysis: Analyse data to uncover trends and patterns and interpret findings with clear objectives in mind.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in data science. While experience is important, we value intelligence and the ability to learn quickly from our Senior Analysts.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
  • Tools Knowledge: Experience with SQL, Excel, Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Collaborative: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, research-focused environment with multiple concurrent projects.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Pattern Recognition & Predictive Modeling: Experience in pattern recognition and developing predictive models is a plus.
