Role
We are looking for a Junior QA Tester with 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role to join our busy team. The main duties will involve reviewing our systems and applications and reporting any defects in accordance with our acceptance criteria.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyse business requirements to ensure test coverage and clarity.
- Estimate QA tasks and contribute to sprint planning as part of the Agile process.
- Design, document, and maintain detailed test plans and test cases to support software testing efforts.
- Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing to validate software quality.
- Identify, document, and track bugs using JIRA, ensuring clear communication with developers and project managers.
- Set up and manage test environments to support testing activities.
- Actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Prepare comprehensive test summary reports to document testing activities, outcomes, and coverage.
What will you bring to us?
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a QA role, with a strong understanding of basic software testing principles and practices.
- Exposure to functional, black-box, and manual testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, or similar) and experience in documenting and tracking defects.
- Basic experience in mobile testing, including testing on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Some exposure to user acceptance testing (UAT), working alongside stakeholders to validate requirements.
- A detail-oriented approach to testing, with the ability to identify edge cases and contribute to product quality.
- Experience working within Agile teams, participating in Scrum ceremonies like sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
- Basic skills in reporting test results, including clear documentation of test execution and defect tracking.
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
What would be great to have?
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of different Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with test management tools to plan, execute, and track testing activities effectively.
- Practical experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar.
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification, showcasing a solid understanding of testing principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with automation testing frameworks or a willingness to learn automation tools (a plus).
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes and their integration with testing pipelines (nice to have).
