Kevin French

CEO, iCabbi Americas

Little did I know in 1985 that my first job, a month out of college, would be the start of a journey into the for-hire industry that would last 3+ decades! I have had the pleasure of travelling the world, made lifelong friends/colleagues, and have been part of several industry milestones. This has included mega projects in Singapore with 13K+ taxis, NYC Taxi Passenger Enhancement Program (TPEP) 7K cars, and a payment project in London, England with 9K cars.

As CEO of North America, I am constantly looking for opportunities to grow and enhance our base of customers and partners. Technology and automation are critical to both the short and long-term success for the industry’s eco-system. To the outside world, the industry seems simple: “someone asks to be picked up – and you go pick them up!”. In reality, it involves a phone system/IVR, call center, dispatch system, passenger/driver apps, back-office invoicing and driver payment, cashless payments, advertising, reporting, accessibility, security, regulatory requirements, insurance minimization, and as we progress into electric vehicles a closer connection to the car. Of course, this must be operational and supported 24 hours/day x 365 days/year!

My team and I are responsible for representing and fighting for the North American needs of our customers and prospects. Although the iCabbi product line is unsurpassed in its capabilities and customizations, there are always “local” demands and requirements. In certain situations, we handle market requirements ourselves by using the powerful iCabbi Open API which is also available to our Mobile Knowledge customers. In addition, we have a diverse set of marketplace partners who both supplement and enhance our customer’s experience.

I have a lifelong ambition to never stop learning. After completing my MBA, I have continuously invested countless hours into the latest business and technology trends. While there seems to be an endless rehashing of old ideas with new names, the process always makes me evaluate things from a new perspective/set of eyes! I am a family man with two adult sons and seemingly only cheer for sports teams that wear red!
